Astrology chartSooner or later, everyone with an interest in astrology will come to the point where they want to make an attempt to cast their own horoscope. With a rudimentary knowledge of astrology and the ability to read graphs and charts,actually preparing a natal chart is not a difficult matter, and may even be fun as you see the chart take shape. In order to prepare an astrology chart, the prerequisites are the date and time of birth,down to the minute if possible. The second requirement is the location of the birth. For a simple chart, at least the nearest latitude is adequate. The first step in preparing the astrology chart is to draw a circle and divide it into twelve segments of 30 degrees each. This would be similar to the face of a clock. From one of the readily available tables prepared for the purpose which are available through most astrology web sites or special interest shops, determine the Ascendant sign at the moment of birth. The sign of Ascendancy belongs in the 1st House, which is related to Self. The position of the 1st House on the chart is the equivalent to the area from 8 to 9 on a clock face. The 2nd House, 3rd House and so on continue counterclockwise in order and relate respectively to 2nd House - Money and Possessions; 3rd House - Communication; 4th House - Beginnings and Home Life; 5th House - Pleasure, Creativity and Sex; 6th House - Service and Health; 7th House - Partnership and Marriage; 8th House - Death and Regeneration; 9th House - Mental Exploration and Long Distance Travel; 10th House - Career and Public Standing; 11th House - Friends and Hopes and Wishes; 12th House - Secrets, Sorrows, and Self-Undoing. The signs,starting from the ascendant sign in the 1st House and continuing to the 12th House are placed counterclockwise in order around the face of the chart. The next step is to determine the location on the chart of each of the planets at the moment of nativity. The planets, for astrological chart-casting purposes, are the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Planetary tables are available through online astrology sites or specialty book stores. Each of the appropriate symbols is placed in the correct sign and House, based on the earlier identified Ascendant. Once this process is completed for each of the Planets, the charting process is completed and ready for the next step which is interpretation of the astrology chart.
