Free astrologyA review of the sites available on the internet, using the search term "Free Astrology" brings up over 500,000 Google hits. Many of them are duplicate hits from various sites. However, in reviewing the offerings presented on a number of these pages, one thing becomes apparent very quickly. You get what you pay for. If you were to ask a hundred people what comes to mind when you ask them if they want "free astrology" probably 95 of them would refer to the free horoscope in the daily paper. As access to internet astrology sites has become more prevalent, more people would probably refer to a horoscope reading, pretty generic in nature which you would get by entering your birth date and location into a web site. Some of the free astrology designated web sites go so far as to prepare a computer generated natal chart and follow that will a one to three page explanation of each of the components of the chart. Each site examined however, included advertisements; some even could be construed as pressure to purchase further information. Sometimes, the advertisements seemed far removed from the subject of astrology, but one fairly common connection made was a link between psychic readings and astrological or horoscope readings. If we accept that astrology is the construction and reading of natal charts for an individual, then there are several ways to get free astrology, depending on the level of detail and information required. 1. Read the daily horoscope printed in the newspaper, or available at the checkout stand in the supermarket. It's usually only 3-4 sentences at most, very general, and could be applied to almost anyone's life with a fair probability that something would fit. Internet site horoscopes fall into this category. 2. Somewhat more comprehensive forms of the daily horoscope usually appear in bookstores and magazine stands at the end of the year. These books may be specific by sun sign, or may include all the signs in one volume. Sometimes the astrology guide will deal with only one aspect of the sun sign characteristics. An example is Love and Sun Signs. While these books are not free, they are low cost and often given as gifts during the holiday season. 3. Another method of getting free astrology readings is the do-it-yourself route. Learn how to construct the natal charts, learn how to read them and practice on yourself. Since this method requires an expenditure of time and effort, it is not free either, but the added self-knowledge you gain will be well worth the struggle.
